Product Design (UI/UX)
A 16-week live cohort in product design: research that changes decisions, interfaces that hold up on a small screen, and a case-study portfolio that shows your reasoning.
Who this track is for
Beginners and graphic designers moving into product work, plus engineers and founders who need to design what they build.
Prerequisites: No design background required. Figma is free and we set it up together in week one.
What you will learn
Design fundamentals
Layout, type, colour, contrast and hierarchy — the rules behind why an interface feels calm or noisy.
Figma as a working tool
Auto-layout, components, variants, tokens and files a developer can actually read.
User research
Interviews, usability testing, synthesis and turning what you heard into a decision rather than a slide.
Interaction and flows
Information architecture, states, edge cases, empty screens and error paths.
Design systems
Building a small system: tokens, components, documentation and the discipline to keep it consistent.
Accessibility
Contrast, focus order, touch targets, screen-reader semantics and designing for the WCAG AA bar.
Portfolio and critique
Writing case studies that explain trade-offs, and presenting work under real critique.
What you finish with
The point of the track is the evidence, not the certificate. By the end you will have built and deployed:
- A research study with findings and a recommendation
- An end-to-end mobile-first product flow
- A documented mini design system
- Three written case studies for your portfolio
Plus a Medhavio certificate of completion. That certificate is issued by us; it is not a university or government accreditation, and the portfolio above is the part an interviewer will actually look at.
Tools you will work in

How the cohort runs
- Weekly live sessions in a small group, recorded so you can catch up.
- A project every module, reviewed line by line by a practising mentor.
- 1:1 mentor sessions you book when you are stuck or planning your next step.
- An AI study copilot for hints, code review and a revision plan built around your week.
- Interview preparation: mock rounds, portfolio review and negotiation practice.
- Community access that continues after the cohort ends.
